How does MedsFile.com work?

Using state of the art technology, your information is stored in your medical record online via secure remote servers accessable only by the Internet or over your mobile phone.

Once you create an account for yourself, a loved one, or a person for whom you are the caregiver, you will immediately be e-mailed an account Login and PIN so you can begin filling in the patient’s medical information.  Within two weeks, you will be mailed a personal customer identification card.  This plastic card will have the same login and PIN information printed on it.  Your first plastic identification card is free.  For a $2 processing fee per card, you may order additional identical cards for caretakers and loved ones.  Note that neither the patient’s name nor the account administrator’s name appears on the plastic customer identification cards to ensure your privacy.

The next time you visit your doctor, simply hand them your personal identification card.  The card features the directions on how to view and print your medical record online.  Remember to take your card back with you, but ask your doctor to keep a copy of your card in your chart so your doctor or nurse can always view your latest medical information, especially if you see more than one doctor.

If you do not wish to hand your card to a stranger, feel free to log into your own account, print off your own account's medical file before you head off to the doctor, and simply take the printout with you.
