The article reads...

Too many meds?

A new Web site aims to change the way you manage information about your family's health. MedsFile.com is a secure database where you can store information about you or your loved ones' medications.

Pamela Holland, whose parents and mother-in-law live at a Sunrise Senior Living community at Huntcliff Summit, Atlanta, explains how it started: "My husband and I take care of all our parents' medical needs," she says. "They're taking between 20 and 40 different medications and were just getting confused trying to remember everything. Their primary doctors were not aware of what other specialists were recommending. My son Mark, who's a computer major, just said 'There's got to be a better way.'"

Mark's website (www.medsfile.com) is the result. Register (from $2.99 a month) and you can securely enter your doctors' details, medications, supplements and emergency contacts. If you hand the card over to a nurse or doctor, they can print out the information.

For Pamela, it's brought piece of mind. "My father was recently admitted to the hospital and, of course, the first question the doctor asked was 'What medications is he taking?' I just handed over the card and the hospital staff thought it was the best thing they ever saw."
