MedsFile.com, LLC was founded in 2004 by then 23-year old Mark Holland. He
came up with the idea for MedsFile.com by watching his parents and grandparents struggle with
managing their own personal medication and allergy lists.
Mark's elderly grandfather, Andrew, took over 50 medications and supplements daily. Since
he could not remember the names and dosages of each drug, Mark's mother attempted to keep track of all of
Andrew's medications, supplements and allergies on a piece of paper for him.
Late one night, while suffering a detached retina, Andrew drove himself to the
emergency room at a local hospital to seek care. When he arrived, the attending
nurse immediately asked him what medications he took, and what his allergies were.
Not only was it not possible for him to remember them, he had left his list at
home. Precious time was lost while the hospital attempted to contact Mark's mother.
It was then that Mark decided there had to be a better way to do this. At that moment, MedsFile.com was born!
