ATLANTA (March 1, 2009) - MedsFile.com, LLC, a private and secure web-based service that allows consumers to create their own online personal health record, announced today the completion of its merger with Advanced Patient Information Inc. (API), an Atlanta-based patient healthcare technology company specializing in patient healthcare data. The merger will further position MedsFile.com as the premier personal health record.

MedsFile.com Founder Mark Holland describes the merger as "the next step in providing to patients the most robust online personal health record in the market today. This merger will allow MedsFile.com to continue to build on its strong platform while enhancing its services through multiple data sources and automatic information feeds."

Currently, there is no worldwide central medical database shared by patients, doctors, hospitals, pharmacies, and caregivers. The results of a physician or caregiver having limited knowledge of a patient’s medical history as well as every medication and supplement a patient takes could be detrimental to the patients care. In addition, it is in the patient’s best interest to have access to and monitor their personal healthcare record.

Since 2004, MedsFile.com has empowered customers to easily build and maintain their own personal health record. MedsFile.com gives customers the ability to control what medical information they wish to share and make their personal healthcare record available to doctors every day or in an emergency.
