ATLANTA (September 1, 2009) - MedsFile.com is pleased to announce the addition of Jeffrey. J. Albert, MD, to its growing staff. As the company’s medical director, Dr. Albert will bring a unique, physician-oriented perspective to the Personal Health Record (PHR) system.

“We are so happy to have Dr. Albert as a member of our team,” said MedsFile.com’s President M. Alester Spears. “His knowledge and professional expertise will be invaluable to us as we build out our consumer PHR and create our Provider Portal.”

Built specifically with physicians’ needs in mind, the MedsFile Provider Portal is a state-of-the-art Web-based suite that features five main components: “e-Prescribe,” for providers to refill their patients’ prescriptions with one click; “e-Messaging,” to securely contact their colleagues; “Provider Portal,” for physicians to view their patients' MedsFile.com accounts; “Kiosk,” for providers to increase revenue by utilizing our electronic check-in solution; and “Grand Rounds,” to view grand rounds from anywhere.

Dr. Albert is an orthopedic surgeon with Resurgens Orthopaedics, Georgia’s largest orthopedic practice. His areas of expertise are sports medicine and arthroscopy, shoulder and knee surgery, knee and hip replacement, and general orthopedics. He graduated from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in 1984, trained as a fellow at Orthopedic Research of Virginia, and fulfilled his residency at Akron General Medical Center, in Ohio.

Dr. Albert is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He also practices at Roswell Surgery Center and North Fulton Regional Hospital.
